Mrs Khupiwe Chirambo

Secretary General

My name is Mrs. Khupiwe Nkunika-Chirambo, one of the founding members for the Association of Zambians of DC, Maryland and Virginia (AZDMV). I am a mother blessed with 4 wonderful children. Over the years I’ve devoted my time volunteering for the Association as the Event Coordinator and recently Secretary General and Public Relations.I’m very passionate about serving my community, hence my involvement in different empowerment projects and programmes.

Not only do I volunteer my time with AZDMV but I am also a Deaconess for the 15th Street Presbyterian Church, as well as a Sunday School teacher. I’ve also served on the Tender Loving Care (TLC) Committee, a tutoring and after school program for Elementary school kids, Vacation Bible School Instructor as well as volunteered as a member of the Board of Trustees. For 6 years, every year my husband and I sponsored Zambia Day at church wherein we invited our AZDMV community to worship with us and we also cooked Zambian dishes for repast.

Through the 15th Street Presbyterian and the Clean Water Project (Zambia Water Project), we sank up 11 wells across Zambia to cater for the most vulnerable villages who had to walk miles and miles just to access clean and safe drinking water.
